Collection: Beaujolais Nouveau

2024 got off to a wet start in Beaujolais, with above-average precipitation in the Winter that continued through the Spring, putting a huge strain on growers as they had to be in the vineyards constantly to make sure the vines stayed healthy. The wet weather continued into the early Summer, but with enough periods of warm sunshine that allowed the grapes to ripen, but at a slower pace than usual (especially when compared to the fast ripening of the hotter and drier vintages of the last few years). Due to the unseasonably rainy weather, the growers knew quantities would be small, but there was great hope that with the small yields it could be a great qualitative year if the summer ended with dry sunny weather. So far in August, the growers were gifted just that, with warm temperatures and dry conditions finally arriving and expected to stay through the rest of the month. Because of the cooler weather in the Spring and early Summer, harvest is expected to start around mid-September, and the growers are incredibly excited about what should be an exceptionally high quality 2024 vintage.
