About Winemaker

Domaine De La Mongestine

Domaine de la Mongestine is a beacon of sustainable viticulture, with the entire estate being Ecocert certified for over a decade. The property has been fully grass-covered for the past three years, and irrigation is conscientiously avoided. The use of copper is minimized to reduce environmental impact, while the estate actively fosters biodiversity by planting meadows and melliferous trees, creating a nourishing habitat for bees.

At Domaine de la Mongestine, specialized mechanical machinery is used in the vineyard to optimize tasks, reduce passes, and enhance soil health. Their updated harvesting machine minimizes grape waste and vine damage. In the cellar, they've upgraded to "intelligent" pneumatic presses and implemented centralized temperature control. This meticulous approach, combined with proactive equipment maintenance and computerized process management, ensures quality and efficiency from vine to bottle.

So..What's natural wine again?

  • No synthetic molecules in the vines
  • Plowing or other solutions to avoid chemical herbicides
  • Use of indigenous yeast
  • Handpicked grapes
  • Low to no filtering
  • Low to no sulfites
  • Winemaking that respects the grapes: no pumping or rough handling
    of the grapes
  • no micro-oxygenation

Not all of our wines are natural; some are simply organic or sustainable.
However, they're all delicious and good for you!
