About Winemaker
Les Vignerons D’ Estézargues
Located in Estézargues, Rhone Valley, Les Vignerons d’Estézargues is a unique cooperative cellar led by Armelle Rouault. The cooperative comprises 12 local growers cultivating 550 hectares, with 3/4 of the vineyards certified organic.
The vineyards feature Rhone Valley varieties and produce approximately 2 million bottles annually, primarily red wines vinified in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Established in 1965, Estézargues shifted towards natural winemaking in the 1980s under talented winemaker Jean-François Nicq, avoiding additives and focusing on minimal sulfur additions at bottling.
Unlike traditional cooperatives, Estézargues emphasizes individual terroirs, vinifying the best plots separately to showcase their unique characteristics. These wines proudly bear the domaine's name, reflecting the collective nature of the cooperative.
Under the leadership of Armelle Rouault and Sales Director Anna Tyack, Estézargues aims for full organic conversion, leveraging the region's favorable conditions for sustainable viticulture. With its commitment to quality, environmental respect, and community, Les Vignerons d’Estézargues exemplifies innovative cooperative winemaking in the Rhone Valley.
