Varietal: Grenache Noir, Carignan, Mourvedre, and Syrah

Region: Corbieres

Country: France

Volume: 750ml

In the glass, L’Enclos presents a deep blue-black hue with a rich purple rim. Aromas of red and black fruits intertwine with notes of blueberry ink, warm garrigue, pine, and crushed limestone. The palate delights with flavors of juicy plum, blackberry, and black cherry, complemented by subtle hints of sweet herbs. A lively mineral undertone surfaces towards the finish, enhanced by the wine's silky acidity. While L’Enclos has the potential to age gracefully for over a decade, it is equally enchanting when enjoyed in its youthful vibrancy.

Vinification Method: The grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and gently pressed. The fruit undergoes a gentle regular pigeage—submerging the floating cap of skins in the vat thus allowing L’Enclos to maximize the flavor and color of the grapes. Natural yeasts are employed and the juice undergoes four to five weeks of maceration. Fermentation and aging occurs in used oak 600L barrels and conical wooden vat, for about a year, before it is bottled without fining or filtration.

About Winemaker

Domaine des 2 Anes

Located in Peyriac-de-Mer on the Mediterranean coast of Corbieres, France, Domaine des Deux Anes is a 22-hectare estate managed by winemaker Magali Terrier. The vineyard, certified by both Demeter and Ecocert, practices biodynamic and organic viticulture, cultivating varieties such as Carignan, Grenache Noir, Mourvedre, Syrah, and Grenache Gris.

With an annual production of approximately 90,000 bottles, the estate employs classical winemaking methods, including carbonic maceration and pétillant naturel sparkling rosé, with a focus on spontaneous fermentation and no fining or filtration.

Magali, originally from Beaujolais, was drawn to Languedoc's unique terroir and has managed the estate since 2000. The vineyard benefits from its elevated position overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, enjoying ideal sun exposure, marine air, and beneficial winds. The estate's sustainable approach includes using three donkeys for vineyard maintenance and fertilization.

Domaine des Deux Anes' wines reflect Magali's commitment to quality and terroir expression, offering a harmonious balance of power and freshness. Cheers to the underdogs!
