About Winemaker
CHATEAU DE LA VIEILLE CHAPELLE
The terroir of Château de la Vieille Chapelle is situated within the Dordogne alluvial system, a location of distinction encompassing 11 hectares of vineyards. Predominantly composed of fine, deep clays and enriched with alluvial deposits of silts, the vineyard's complex soils present challenges in cultivation. The estate's proximity to the Dordogne river not only facilitates vineyard management but also enhances the quality of the wines, fostering a unique microclimate on the property.
In 2008, the estate ceased the use of herbicides, followed by pesticides in 2009. Since 2010, Château de la Vieille Chapelle has adopted alternative and natural treatments. The commitment to organic practices is evident, with all wines achieving Ecocert certification in 2013 and biodynamic certification by Demeter in 2017.
